I am a Polish-born artist based in Birmingham, working across painting and drawing. My work is shaped by close observation, with particular attention to colour, light, form, texture and the individual character of a subject.
Drawing and painting are two parts of the same practice for me. Drawing brings structure, line and careful observation; painting opens another language through colour, light, surface and atmosphere. I work mainly in acrylic and oil as well as drawing, moving between still life, portraiture and other subjects that invite a closer look.

I accept selected commissions in painting and drawing. Some begin with a portrait, others with an object, place or image that has personal meaning. Each commission starts with a conversation about the subject, format, medium, scale and the character the finished work should have.

The encouragement and support I have found there have made Sweetfields more than an exhibition space — it has become a meaningful part of my current artistic life and local creative community.
